Declaring Majors
First-Year College of Humanities students who enrolled after Spring 2002 must apply for the English Language and Literature Department in order to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature. Students are selected at the end of each semester, with two opportunities for declaration in the Fall Semester and another in the Spring Semester. In case a student is unable to declare in his or her majors in a given semester, he or she may reapply the following semester.

The selection process consists of a review of the student’s files, a written test and an interview. The review of students’ files weighs on factors like overall Grade Point Average (GPA), GPA for major exploration courses, written plan of study, TEPS scores, etc. The written test is composed of summarizing and translating passages.
